The men’s soccer team battled back from behind to secure a 1-1 tie against Regis University at the Regis Turf Fields.

Denver, Colo.---The Biola men's soccer team battled back from behind to secure a 1-1 tie against Regis University at the Regis Turf Fields.

The Rangers took an early lead, recording the match's first goal in the 20th minute.

Biola kept their composure, holding Regis until they evened the score in the second half. A Regis foul gave BU a penalty kick opportunity in the 54th minute. Ethan Hardin was selected to take the kick and cashed in to tie up the match (1-1).

Biola and Regis fought to gain the advantage but neither team would break through. Biola's offensive got off three more shots while Regis fired in six. Gijs van Schouten, BU's keeper, made four saves in the second half to keep Biola in the match. Three of his saves were after Biola's goal and one was in the 88th minute.

Biola's defense line was led by van Schouten and bolstered by Adrian Acevedo, Tomislav Jozinovic, and Joseph Davis. All four played the full 90 against Regis.

The Eagles also had a close call in the match's final minutes. Cruz Navarro had a shot on goal that was saved in the 87th minute.
