CSCAA Spring Scholar-America 2024

Smart Swimmers Score CSCAA Scholar All-America

Biola Aquatics earned its academic accolades from the CSCAA with the spring Scholar-America team and individual awards.

LA MIRADA --- The CSCAA gave outs its spring Scholar All-America honors, commemorating the top academic programs in the country. The Biola men's and women's swim and dive squads each surpassed the standards and placed a combined total of seven athletes on the Individual Scholar All-America List.


To qualify for this prestigious recognition, teams had to earn a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 during the Spring 2024 semester. Of the 722 selected teams, 563 achieved a GPA of 3.30 or above.

Each BU team boasted 25 student-athletes on the roster and were above a 3.4 GPA for the spring semester. The men's team came in at 3.47, while the women's squad held a 3.69 GPA in the spring of 2024. 

The two squads have now made it five-straight semesters with a plus-3.0 GPA to obtain a spot on the prestigious list.

To qualify for First-Team Scholar All-America, student-athletes must have earned a GPA of 3.5 or higher and participated in their national championship. Second-Team selections, must have also earned a 3.5 GPA or higher and met a "B" time standard for the national championship or qualified for a diving zone qualification meet.

The Eagles landed seven Second Team Scholar-America selections. Eliana Cote earned her way to the award with an appearance at the NCAA DII Diving Qualification meet and a 3.87 GPA. In the pool, Phoebe Munholland grabbed a "B" time standard in the 50 free, while holding a perfect 4.0 GPA. Rachel Munch was the third and final women's recipient for Biola with a "B" standard time in the 200 free, while reaching a 3.94 GPA in the spring.

On the men's side, Alejandro Marchesini, Nathan Griffin, Noah Hall, and Caleb Pook all earned CSCAA Second Team Scholar-America recognitions. Marchesini hit the mark in the 500 free with a GPA of 4.0, Griffin hit the "B" standard time in the 100 and 200 back with a 3.76 GPA, Hall hit the mark in the 1650 free with a 3.73 GPA and Pook made the trip to the NCAA DII Diving Qualification Meet, while holding a 3.78 GPA.
