VISTA, Calif. --- The run of success for the Biola women's water polo team continued throughout the 2024 season. The Eagles returned to the pinnacle of the WWPA with a championship victory last week. Another season of excellence helped Head Coach Sarah Orozco to a second-consecutive WWPA Coach of the Year Award.

From day one of the Biola women's water polo program, Orozco has been in charge. The decorated head coach has led the Eagles to double-digit wins in all three seasons and back-to-back conference championships. 

Under Orozco's leadership, Biola scored a 2024 WWPA Championship Title. The Eagles netted their seventh-straight WWPA Tournament win on Sunday on their way to defending their crown. Biola boasted a 5-1 conference record in the regular season, avenging its one WWPA regular season loss by beating Cal State East Bay in the championship game.

Orozco was tabbed the top coach of the conference for the second time in as many years on Friday. 

Biola's season is not over as the team prepares for another trip to the National Collegiate Women's Water Polo Championships. BU will get a chance to battle in the opening round against No. 18 Wagner College on Wednesday at 5:00 pm at the Spieker Aquatics Center in Berkeley, California.
