SURPRISE, Ariz.---The Biola women's tennis team had a good run at the 2024 PacWest Conference Championships, losing 4-1 to nationally-ranked No. 40 CUI in the quarterfinals.

The Eagles already improved upon their 2023 performance by winning in the first round and advancing to the quarterfinals. Biola now enters the consolation bracket with their next match being tomorrow, Friday Apr. 19 at 1 p.m. against seventh-seeded Hawaii Hilo. BU's highest possible finish is fifth place.

CUI got ahead by taking the doubles point. Concordia tabbed the first doubles win on the first court and Biola charged back with a 6-2 win on the third court. Isabella Chavarria and Kailee Mazzeo defeated CUI's Alicia Da Re and Jessica Bear to give Biola a chance to win it. However, the Golden Eagles would be victorious on the second court where they won 6-3 and clinched the doubles point.

Nationally-ranked No. 39 Colbeyshae Emery recorded Biola's only singles win on the first court over #17 Sophie Rachor. Emery took down highly-ranked Rachor in two dominant sets 6-3, 6-4.
