IRVINE, Calif.---The Biola men's tennis team has a talented group of Eagles, three received all-conference recognition. Nico Ramírez,
Adrian Solorzano and
Alejandro Flores Monteverde represented Biola on the All-PacWest teams.
Ramírez led the trio, earning the PacWest's Newcomer of the Year award. He was also a First Team All-PacWest selection for singles and doubles.
Ramírez has been an anchor for the Eagles, dominating on the first court. The Senior has a 13-4 overall record where eight of his 13 wins were dominant two-set victories. He also was chosen as PacWest Player of the Week twice.
Ramírez has been nationally ranked for eight-consecutive weeks. His highest national ranking was as the 12th-best singles player in the nation and his most recent is 32nd. Ramírez is currently the second-highest nationally-ranked PacWest Conference tennis player in Division II.
Ramírez and Adrian Solorzano were selected to the PacWest's doubles first team. Ramírez and Solorzano are ranked as the third-best doubles pair in the West Region and were ranked as high as the No. 25 best doubles pair in the nation. Ramírez and Solorzano are 11-5 from the first court and have a three-match winning streak.
Solorzano adds All-PacWest Second Team singles to his list of accomplishments. The Sophomore has Biola's most singles wins with an overall singles record of 14-5. Eleven of his 14 wins were won in two sets. Additionally, he is 2-0 from the first court, 7-5 from the second and 5-0 from the third.  Â
This is Solorzano's second year being named All-PacWest, last season he was a third team pick.
Flores Monteverde is Biola's last selection. The Freshman was named to the PacWest's third team and has had a big impact on BU's line-up. He is 13-6 overall from the second, third and fourth courts. He has the most wins from the fourth court where he is 8-2.Â
Flores Monteverde also won PacWest Player of the Week once this season.
