BU Men Grab National Attention

Biola Tennis continued to pull in strong ITA national rankings.

April 10, 2024

TEMPE, Ariz. --- Nico Ramírez, Colbeyshae Emery, Brooke Fager and Alexandria Mann remained in the International Tennis Association's (ITA) latest national rankings, as announced on Wednesday. The BU men's tennis squad made its first appearance in the rankings, earning the No. 50 spot as the postseason quickly approaches.

Biola men's tennis moved into the national rankings with wins against Point Loma and Fresno Pacific on the road. The Eagles took down then-ranked No. 47 PLNU in a 4-3 thriller, before improving their overall record to 13-7, following the week of action.

Emery made a big jump in the latest rankings, reaching No. 43 in singles. The senior climbed 13 spots from last week with three straight-set wins against PLNU, FPU, and Cal State LA.

Fager and Mann went 2-1 over the last week in their doubles pairing. The duo took care of business against FPU and CSULA but dropped one match at Point Loma, as they dropped to rank No. 11 in the nation.

Ramírez moved down to the 36th-best singles player in the ITA's most recent rankings. Ramírez faced off in a three-set thriller against a nationally ranked singles player from Point Loma and fell narrowly, before taking a victory at Fresno Pacific to cap off the week.

Biola Tennis will be back in action for Senior Day on Friday with the women beginning at 11:30 am and the men at 2:30 pm.
