Doubles Decides Loss for Biola

The doubles point ended up being the decider as the men’s tennis team lost 4-3 to Grand Valley State at the Biola Tennis Center.

LA MIRADA—The doubles point ended up being the decider as the Biola men's tennis team lost 4-3 to Grand Valley State at the Biola Tennis Center.

Biola lost the doubles point due to back-to-back losses on courts 1 and 2. The third court was left unfinished as Patricio Larrea and Alejandro Flores Monteverde led 4-3.

The Eagles split singles with the Lakers, collecting wins on the third, second and fifth courts.

Larerra won the first singles match for Biola on the third court over GVSU's Victor Lopes. Larrea defeated Lopes 6-4, 6-3 on the third court.

Adrian Solorzano logged Biola's next win on the second court where he defeated his opponent 6-2, 6-4.

Biola's final win was on the fifth court courtesy of Santino Serralonga. Serralonga outlasted his opponent 7-5, 4-6, 6-1. 

Nico Ramírez lost a three-set battle to GVSU's Denys Zamaraiev on the first court. Ramírez won his first set 6-4 and lost the last two 6-1, 6-4.

Biola plays next at home on Thursday, Mar. 7 at 3 p.m. against Azusa Pacific.
