The men’s tennis team rallied together to defeat Concordia 6-1 at the CUI Tennis Courts.

IRVINE, Calif.---The Biola men's tennis team rallied together to defeat Concordia 6-1 at the CUI Tennis Courts.

The Eagles (11-6) are heating up as their regular season comes to an end, extending their winning streak to five matches with four to go before Biola begins the PacWest Championships.

Biola began strong, showcasing their resiliency as they won the doubles point battle. Santino Serrallonga and Patricio Larrea set the tone with a 6-1 win on the second court. 

The Golden Eagles leveled the field with a 6-1 win of their own on the third court and all eyes turned to the first court as Nico Ramírez and Adrian Solorzano battled against Max Renz and Mattis Le Montagner.

Ramírez and Solorzano ended up clinching the doubles point with a 6-3 victory over their opponents.

The momentum continued to flow Biola's way during singles as Solorzano tabbed Biola's next win on the third court where he defeated his opponent 6-3, 6-0.

Callen Hein put BU up 3-0 when he won 6-3, 6-4 on the fourth court. 

CUI earned their first match point with a victory on the second court. Alejandro Flores Monteverde lost a three-set duel to CUI's Mario Aleksic. Flores Monteverde won his first set 6-2 but would fall 6-3, 6-4 in the last two sets.

Ramírez, nationally-ranked No. 17, finished next with the game-clinching triumph on the first court. Ramírez lost his first set 6-2 and came back to win 6-3, 6-4.

Biola finished strong with wins on the fifth and sixth courts. Serrallonga won 6-2, 6-2 on the fifth court and Larrea won 7-5, 7-5 on the sixth.

Next up for Biola is APU on Wednesday, Apr. 3 at 2:30 pm at the Munson and Bavougian Tennis Complex.
