Box Score HILO, Hawaii --- The BU baseball squad put together a complete game for their first PacWest victory of the season. Gilbert Lopez led the way with eight strong innings on the mound, helping the team to a 8-3 win over the hosting Hawaii Hilo Vulcans.

After a pair of heartbreaking losses on Friday, Biola was ready to bounce back and take the day.

Lopez led the charge as the starting pitcher for game one of Saturday's doubleheader. The righty nearly went the distance, logging eight frames with only two earned runs allowed. Lopez easily picked up the win for his second this season.

The Biola bats delivered the knockout punch in the eighth inning, posting a six on the scoreboard. The hits just kept coming, as the Eagles opened up a 8-1 advantage. Noah Ruiz kicked off the frame with a double, as the squad followed through to pad onto the lead.

Gabe Magallan closed out the game on the mound, claiming the final three outs. Two hits did not sway the reliever, who posted a scoreless ninth frame.

Game two is currently underway at Francis Wong Stadium in Hilo, Hawaii.
