Duncan Grabs Conference and Regional Weekly Honors

The PacWest and NCBWA honored Wyatt Duncan with the first player of the week award of 2024.

February 06, 2024

LA MIRADA --- Biola and Wyatt Duncan put together a standout showing in their first weekend on the diamond. The strong performances from Duncan earned him the Pacwest Conference and NCBWA West Region Player of the Week honors.

"It's great to see Dunc get off to a hot start," said Head Coach Jesse Rodgers. "He is a huge part of our offense and picked up right where he left off from last season."

The 2024 season kicked off with a bang, as the team went 2-0 on Saturday. The Eagles took down CSU Dominguez Hills in a weekend doubleheader, behind the offensive power of Wyatt Duncan.

The BU first baseman went 5-9 on Saturday with a double and two home runs. The big hits helped him to six runs batted in and a 1.333 slugging percentage.

His biggest hit came in the seven-inning game two, while the BU squad was down, 2-1. A three-run homer from Duncan flipped the script and put the team ahead for good.

"His two three-run home runs changed both games and he really led the way for us," added Rodgers. "He's been a great worker and leader and I'm happy for him to start off the season as the conference and regional player of the week!"

Duncan and the Eagles will be back on the field on Thursday with a doubleheader at MSU Denver beginning at 11:00 am PT.
