Fager Puts BU on the Board

Brooke Fager recorded the Biola women’s tennis team’s win in their 6-1 loss to Concordia University Irvine at the Biola Tennis Center.

LA MIRADA—Brooke Fager recorded the Biola women's tennis team's win in their 6-1 loss to Concordia University Irvine at the Biola Tennis Center.

Concordia edged Biola for the doubles point. CUI tabbed the first win on the third court and BU answered back with a 6-0 dub on the second court by Colbeyshae Emery and Lilly McNeill. 

Nationally-ranked No. 11 (by ITA) Fager and Alexandria Mann battled on the first court against ITA's #10 Sophie Rachor and Tiffany Carrillo. Rachor and Carrillo ended up winning the showdown against Fager and Mann 6-4 in what was a competitive battle.

When it came to singles, Fager ended up recording Biola's only win by defeating CUI's Jessica Bear 6-4, 6-4. 

McNeill and Mann played deep against their opponents, both going three sets. 

McNeill won her first set on the second court 6-4 and then lost the last two 6-1, 6-4.

Mann lost her first set on the fifth court and came back to take the second set 6-2. She was edged 6-3 in the final set by CUI's Bryn Johnson. 

Biola will regroup and play next on Saturday, Feb. 24 at 2pm against Point Loma. BU will get to rematch CUI on March 28 at the CUI Tennis Courts.
