LA MIRADA --- After winning the first game of the series on the road on Friday, Biola (5-3) and CSU San Bernardino (6-3) headed over to Eagles Diamond for the final two games of the series. BU was looking for a second win against No. 10 CSUSB, but the Yotes pulled away for a 13-2 final in game one of Saturday's doubleheader.

Gilbert Lopez got the start on the mound and pitched a scoreless first inning, but then CSUSB hit a home run in the second inning to put the first run on the board. Lopez pitched a scoreless third and fourth and finished his 5.1 inning outing recording three strikeouts.

The Eagles worked together defensively through the first four innings, allowing only two hits and one run, but the Coyotes warmed up and started to run away with the game in the fifth inning.

Although BU got on base a few times, they were unable to answer any of CSUSB's runs through the seventh inning, with the scoreboard reading 13-0.

Noah Ruiz stepped up to the plate in the bottom of the eighth inning with a goal of ending the scoreless streak. He launched the ball over the center field fence and gave the Eagles their first run of the game. Saturday's home run was Ruiz's second of the season.

The Eagles loaded the bases in the bottom of the ninth with two outs and Isaiah Leon singled to bring in the Eagles' second run of the day.

The series finale will be played Saturday afternoon as the Eagles look to win the series against the ranked Coyotes.
