Nelson Has a Day, Eagles Win

The women’s soccer team picked up an exciting 3-1 victory over Menlo College at Wunderlich Field.

ATHERTON, Calif.---The Biola women's soccer team picked up an exciting 3-1 victory over Menlo College at Wunderlich Field. 

Peyton Nelson had a game to remember as she played a role in all three of Biola's goals. She scored the first goal of the game in the 23rd minute and assisted BU's second and third goals.

Marije Rechin assisted Nelson's goal in the first half and went on to score the first goal of the second half which put Biola up 2-0. Rechin quickly got to work, scoring the Eagles' second goal in the 46th minute.

Thirteen minutes later, Menlo made their way onto the scoreboard which cut Biola's lead to one goal.

The Eagles held their composure and Briley Phelps would distance her team by knocking in BU's third goal in the 77th minute. 

Autum Monty got the job done for Biola in the goal. The Junior played the full 90 and faced five shots, four of which were on goal and three were saved.

Biola improved 5-8-4 overall and 5-5 in the PacWest Conference while Menlo fell 3-11-2 and 2-8-1.

The women's soccer team has one game left to go which will take place at Fresno Pacific on Saturday, November 9th.
