VISTA, Calif. --- The anchor of the Biola defense earned more flowers on Wednesday morning. Mitchell Carpenter was named the WWPA Defensive Player of the Week for the third time in 2024.

The BU goalkeeper helped lead the Eagles to a pair of conference wins last week. On Friday the Eagles took down Fresno Pacific with a strong 15-9 showing and then continued their road trip at UC Merced. BU defeated the new WWPA member Bobcats in a non-conference game, 13-8.

Carpenter got the job done on the week with 22 saves. Both games resulted in double-digit blocks for the senior with 10 and 12, individually. The pair of double-digit save performances made for his 10th and 11th such games this year.

He also added to his defensive effort last week with three steals against the Bobcats.

The Eagles will be back in the pool on Friday at Concordia at 7:00 pm.
