VISTA, Calif. --- The blocks poured in for Mitchell Carpenter last week with a thick schedule of six games in three days. Strong play from the BU goalkeeper led him to repeat as the WWPA Defensive Player of the Week, as announced on Wednesday.

Last weekend was jam-packed with Biola men's water polo action. The Eagles took to the pool seven times with Carpenter protecting the cage in six bouts.

The senior continued his strong season with 65 saves on the week. In all six contests he recorded at least eight blocks, including three double-digit block performances.

Carpenter's top showing came against Chapman in a sudden death showdown. Through four quarters, two overtime periods and a sudden death period, Carpenter gathered 20 saves for the Eagles with a .645 save percentage.

The volume of blocks put Carpenter to a huge milestone, reaching 1,000 for his career.

Wednesday's player of the week honor made for his fifth over the last two years.
