October 11, 2024

Box Score RIVERSIDE, Calif. --- Biola (6-17) jumped into the pool under the lights on Friday night, battling the 18th-ranked Lancers of California Baptist (11-8). A slow start held back the Eagles, as they fell in the tough matchup, 21-12.

A high-scoring match ensued on Friday, as both offenses went to work at the Lancer Aquatic Center.
The Biola offense was led by Nolan Rapp with four goals to his name. He spread the love, finding the back of the net once in each quarter. John Grasso was not far behind, posting three goals and adding an assist.

The big run for the Eagles came in the second quarter, pouring in four goals and cutting into an early deficit. Three-straight scores between Grasso, Gavin McKenzie, and Rapp kept the team in the game.

The match started with a first quarter strongly favored by California Baptist, who scored six goals to Biola's two. Despite Biola's attempt to fight back with a strong second quarter performance, the Lancers maintained their lead throughout the match. The Lancers' aggressive play in the final two quarters clinched the victory.

Mitchell Carpenter went the distance in the cage, collecting five saves. He also added two steals, along with teammates Braeden Marsolini, Grasso, and Jake Burns.

Biola will return to the pool on Saturday with a double feature, starting with No. 17 Santa Clara at 12:10 pm in Riverside, California.
