IRVINE, Calif. --- The spring season is upon the Biola Boys and the PacWest has released its preseason poll. The coaches of the conference submitted their votes and placed the Eagles in sixth in anticipation of the 2024 campaign. 

Biola picked up 36 points in the poll on Friday, leading the three teams from Hawaii. Azusa Pacific grabbed the top spot by one point over Point Loma, despite scoring one less first place vote.

The conference offices also announced the Preseason All-PacWest Team, featuring Biola's AJ Ortiz. The BU third baseman finished the 2023 season as a First Team All-PacWest and a Second Team All-Region selection. He will now start the 2024 year voted as the top third baseman in the league.

2024 will see Jesse Rodgers' third year at the helm of the Biola baseball team. The team is coming off a fifth place finish in the PacWest for 2023 with a 19-27 overall record and a 13-15 conference mark.

Biola begins its new campaign on Saturday with an exhibition match against Occidental at Eagles Diamond at 12:00 pm.
