VISTA, Calif. --- The Western Water Polo Association announced its 2024 Women's Water Polo Preseason Poll on Wednesday. Biola was picked as the favorites to repeat following their championship last season. The team was also named No. 25 in the CWPA Preseason Top-25 poll.

Biola pulled in all seven first-place votes for 49 total points in the WWPA Preseason Poll. The team was picked to remain atop the conference, following a 2023 campaign that resulted in 18 wins, a WWPA Championship, and a trip to the NCAA National Championships. The BU squad will see the return of ACWPC All-Americans, Rachel Spadt, Veralie Naranjo, and Maria Roldan Gonzalez, plus the introduction of eight newcomers.

The four west region teams were the first four recognized in the conference poll. CSU Monterey Bay came through in second at 40 points, before being followed by CSU East Bay (33) and Fresno Pacific (30). The east region followed with McKendree (25) in fifth, Salem (22) in sixth, Gannon (13) in seventh, and Mercyhurst (12) in eighth.

BU also made history last week, squeezing into the CWPA National Poll. The Eagles nabbed three points and were tied for 25th, earning a spot in the top-25 for the first time in the team's three year history. 

Biola is set to begin its season on Saturday, facing No. 7 Long Beach State on the road.
