IRVINE, Calif. --- Three home matches saw three Biola wins at the jump of conference play. Abigail Copeland led the way for the BU volleyball squad, while earning the PacWest Defender of the Week award. Biola also picked up the PacWest Team of the Week honor for its perfect 3-0 week.

The weekly honor came through for Copeland, who was a force to be reckoned with at the net last week. The senior averaged 1.6 blocks per set through the three contests. Copeland and the Eagles held their opponents to a .129 hitting percentage on the week.

The blocks were nonstop for the BU middle blocker, as she matched a career-best against Dominican. Copeland logged eight total blocks in a single match, which tied her best from each of the last two seasons. On the week, Copeland grabbed seven solo blocks and nine block assists for 16 total blocks.

Offensively, Copeland added six kills with a .375 hitting percentage and a service ace.

Tuesday's PacWest weekly honor was the second for the BU squad in 2023.

Copeland and the Eagles will be back in action at Academy of Art on Friday at 6:30 pm.
