SURPRISE, Ariz.---The PacWest Conference office released the final seedings for the 2023 PacWest Tennis Championships which are set to begin on Wednesday, April 19 at the Surprise Tennis & Racquet Club.
Both of Biola's teams moved up in the final seedings. The men were previously voted sixth and moved up to fifth and the women were previously eighth and moved up to seventh which was their highest ranking of the year.
Biola's men will face fourth-seeded CUI in their opening round of the PacWest Championships. The Eagles have lost two close 3-4 matches to the Golden Eagles, but either match could have went the other direction.Â
The winner of the match will advance to the semifinals and play the winner of the match between No. 1 Hawai'i Pacific and No. 10 Hawai'i Hilo on Friday, Apr. 21 at 1 p.m. The loser will face the loser between Hawai'i Pacific and Hawai'i Hilo on Friday, Apr. 21 at 1 p.m.
Biola's women are set to win the 10th seed, Hawai'i Hilo, at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, April 19. The Eagles and Vulcans haven't faced yet this season, but have an even 2-6 record against common opponents. Biola enters the match 6-11 overall and the Vulcans come into Wednesday 8-8 overall.Â
The winner of the match will advance to the semifinals and play No. 3 CUI at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Apr. 20. The loser will face the loser between No. 6 Academy of Art and No. 11 Dominican on Friday, Apr. 21 at 9 a.m.
