Box Score IRVINE, Calif.---The Bioa men's tennis team lost a hard fought 4-3 battle to Concordia at the CUI Tennis Courts.

Biola (10-6 overall) had an optimistic start, winning the doubles point against Concordia (8-5 overall).

Alexey Prokopchuk and Alessandro Cadena set the tempo for Biola, defeating CUI's James Caddies and Adam Kartzinel 6-1 on the third court. Biola's nationally-ranked No. 46 doubles partners Antonio Rosales Varona and Adrian Solorzno pulled through next with a 6-3 win on the first court over CUI's Leon Czarnikau and Mike Jansen.

Singles weren't as favorable to the Eagles who ended up losing on four courts. Rosales Varona and Isaac Cordova had competitive battles against their opponents.

Rosales Varona lost his first set 3-6, but came back against CUI's Alex Edmonston to win the second set 6-3. However, Edmonston was able to break away in the third where he won 6-3 again. 

Cordova also went three sets against his opponent Caddies. Cordova won his first set 7-5 but ended up falling 5-7, 3-6 in the last two.

Prokopchuk and Solorzano recorded singles wins for Biola. Prokopchuk took down Czarnikau 6-4, 6-4 on the first court which improved his overall singles record 14-2 and grew his winning streak to two matches. 

Solorzano won a three-set battle against Jansen. Solorzano won his first set tiebreaker 7-6 but would lose his second set 4-6. Solorzano came back stronger than ever, recording a 6-2 victory in his third set which improved his singles record 11-3 overall.

The Eagles will regroup and prepare for their next match on Friday, Apr. 14 at 11 a.m. against Fresno Pacific at the Biola Tennis Center.
