Eagles Dominate Warriors

The men’s tennis team dominated in their 5-0 win against Westmont College, successfully picking up their second-consecutive win of the season.

LA MIRADA--- The Biola Men's Tennis team picked up their second-consecutive win of the season on Friday at the Biola Tennis Center against Westmont College.

The Eagles played the day before against Hope International, receiving a 4-0 win and then came ready to go on Friday against Westmont College where they took a 5-0 victory over the Warriors. 

The doubles matches were competitive between the Eagles and Warriors. Biola began taking the first win on the second court, courtesy of Adrian Solorzano and Sebastian Herrera and then the Warriors came back with a win on the first court, leaving all eyes on court 3. 

Alessandro Cadena and Isaac Cordova buckled down and outlasted Westont's Benny Saito and Santiago Tintore Ramon, winning 6-4 and clinching the doubles point. 

Alexei Prokopchuk secured Biola's next point on the first court with an efficient 6-4, 6-2 win. Solorzano came through next for the Eagles, beating Westmont's Ethan Ha 6-1, 7-5.

Biola was comfortably ahead 3-0 with matches playing out on courts 2, 4, 5, and 6. Simultaneous wins on the sixth and fourth courts would clinch the match, 5-0. Cordova beat his opponent 6-2, 6-2 on court 6 and Alex Sedeno won 6-4, 6-2.

Callen Hein's match on the fifth court remained unfinished. 

Biola will play next on Saturday, Feb. 11 at 10 a.m. against Claremont-Mudd-Scripps at the Biszantz Family Tennis Center in Claremont, Calif.
