The PacWest honored Sam Lisiak on Tuesday, handing him the PacWest Player of the Week award.

IRVINE, Calif. --- In his first full week of starts, Sam Lisiak stepped up for the Eagles. The catcher showed off his prowess at the plate on his way to a PacWest Baseball Player of the Week honor on Tuesday.

Despite the rough week in the standings, Biola baseball offered impressive individual performances throughout. Lisiak stood out above the rest with a breakout week in his sophomore campaign.

The week started at home for the Eagles in a matchup against the 11th-ranked CPP Broncos. Lisiak hit in the five-spot in the lineup and added a pair of hits with a run scored, marking his first multi-hit effort in his career.

Heading into the weekend, the team shifted its focus and flew out to Hawai'i for a four-game series against Hawai'i Pacific. The long trip over the ocean did not effect Lisiak's momentum. The sophomore continued for a five-game hit streak and a five-game streak of scoring a run.

The power from the BU catcher shined in the series against the Sharks. Lisiak left the yard in three of the four games, helping him to four RBIs. Twice in the series, Lisiak and teammate Wyatt Duncan launched back-to-back homers.

In the five-game hitting streak, Lisiak went 8-18 at the plate for a .444 batting average. The strong stretch moved his season average to .385 with 10 hits in eight total appearances.

Biola baseball will battle Hawai'i Hilo in its next competition, beginning with a doubleheader on Wednesday at 5:00 pm PT.
