IRVINE, Calif.--- The Biola Men's Tennis team was picked to finish fourth in the PacWest Conference's Preseason Poll.
Hawai'i Pacific was selected to finish first, followed by Point Loma, Azusa Pacific and then Biola.
Biola finished 18-9 last season, fifth place in the PacWest Championships, and earned an NCAA playoff berth which was their second-consecutive postseason appearance. The Eagles ended up falling in their first round to Azusa Pacific.
The Eagles return five of their six 2022 starters including Sebastian Herrera, Alexei Prokopchuk, Antonio Rosales Varona, Alex Sedeno, and Callen Hein. Herrera and Prokopchuk were both First Team All-PacWest selections.Â
Biola also returns one All-PacWest doubles team, Prokopchuk and Varona who were second team doubles selections.
The Eagles are off to a good start for 2023 where they are 2-1 overall. Biola played at 11 a.m. this morning against Fresno Pacific and plays next on Saturday, Feb. 18 against Concordia.
