The Biola women’s soccer team sent off their seniors in a special way, with a 5-0 shutout win over Academy of Art on senior night.

LA MIRADA—The Biola women's soccer team sent off their seniors in a special way, with a 5-0 shutout win over Academy of Art on senior night.

The Eagles' opened up the scoring in the 16th minute. Marije Rechin sent a solid corner kick into the box that freshman Briley Phelps was able to head in for the first goal of the game.

Rechin set up the next goal the same way, serving in another great corner kick that would lead to Biola's second goal. This time around Rechin found Chloe Laurin in the box who quickly passed to Jordyn Provience who scored Biola's second goal in the 37th minute and the first of her career.

Biola entered the second half with a 2-0 lead and would make it 3-nil in the 53rd minute. Phelps was fouled in the box and then chosen to take the penalty kick which would successfully find the net and cushion BU's lead.

Before all was said and done, the Eagles would score two more goals. Serena Andrade logged the first goal of her career in the 56th minute. The Junior took a deep shot from the corner of the field that curved in for BU's fourth goal.

Biola's final goal of the night was scored in the 75th minute, thanks to Halie Jamir and Ella Grannis. Jamir fed a pass to Grannis that she was able to run forward and score from the left side of the box to the right corner of the net.

The Eagles celebrated their six seniors, Sophia Morris, Erika Haugen, Ella Hiveley, Jamir, Anna Boyer and Jess Hase after the match. Each healthy senior got to check in during their senior match. Morris recorded 41 minutes, Haugen, Hase and Hiveley all logged 48 and Jamir played the full 90. Jamir had two shots, Haugen had one and Hase had one on-goal.
