Another One

Biola picked up a win over SAGU-AIC for a second-straight day.

LA MIRADA --- The BU men's basketball squad completed the back-to-back sweep of the SAGU American Indian College Warriors (4-4). Following a Tuesday win at home, Biola (4-3) returned to Chase Gymnasium on Wednesday and held on for a 79-68 victory.

Myja White put together a strong showing from beyond the arc, hitting three triples on six attempts. The graduate transfer posted 15 points and four rebounds, while shooting 66.7 percent from the floor.

White on his shooting success on Wednesday, "I just stayed the course. I know not every shot is going to go in but I have the confidence and faith since the guys trust me as a shooter."

Four Eagles hit the 15 point threshold in the win with Casey Cappo leading the way with 17. Cappo was dialed in, shooting 70.0 percent from the field and 100.0 percent from downtown. He also nabbed 10 rebounds to pace the team and record his second double-double of the year.

The game was not smooth sailing for the Eagles, as the visitors made the first move in the contest. A 13-0 run from the Warriors gave them a 29-21 lead with just over eight minutes to go in the first half.

Biola responded with eight-straight points for themselves. The Eagles attacked the paint and sank four buckets to knot the game at 29. The rally for the team peaked at 18-2, flipping the eight-point deficit into an eight-point lead at 39-31.

BU never trailed again but SAGU stayed within reach after the halftime break. The visitors evened up the scoreline twice and were within one possession until the 8:26 mark in the second half. Foul trouble disrupted the defense of the Warriors, giving space for back-to-back Biola three-pointers, giving the Eagles a 66-59 advantage.

Eight free throws from Biola helped seal the game in the 79-68 final.

The Eagles will return to the planks on Wednesday, December 6 in the team's conference opener against Concordia at 7:30 pm.
