LA VERNE, Calif. --- The weekend wrapped up on Sunday for Biola swimming and diving at the La Verne Winter Invite. A pair of school records were set on the final day, while both teams finished amongst the top five in a field of strong competition.

16 women's teams competed at the winter invite, while the Eagles landed in fourth with 827 points. Two NCAA DI foes finished ahead of BU, while CSU East Bay was the only DII school to beat out the Eagles. On the men's side, 10 programs took to the pool with Biola nabbing fifth place with 1,015 points.

"I thought both our teams finished the invitational with grit and energy!" commented Head Coach Nathan Harding. "We got to see some amazing mid-season efforts! We've put a lot of work in during the fall so it's exciting to see some fast swimming in November!"

Nathan Griffin added to his amazing weekend with another school record. The sophomore set a new 100 backstroke record three times between Friday and Saturday and came for another school record on Sunday. Griffin cut two seconds off his preliminary time in the 200 backstroke to take third place in the event with a time of 1:48.47. Four Eagles finished in the top 10 in the event. Alejandro Marchesini was just behind Griffin, grabbing fourth place at 1:51.12.

Sean Rho also set multiple school records over the weekend, earning a top mark in the 100 individual medley on Sunday. The junior took bronze and touched at 52.53. Tate Fitzgerald added to the event with a fifth place showing at 55.24.

The lone event crown of the day went to Morgan Kampfer. Kampfer delivered in the 200 butterfly with a first place finish and a time of 2:07.23.

Long distance specialist Noah Hall picked up a silver medal in the 1650 freestyle. Hall was one of three Eagles in the top nine, finishing at 16:02.68.

Earlier in the weekend, BU diving took to the boards and posted positive results. Caleb Pook notched the number one score in the 3mtr dive at 224.85. He also took second place in the 1mtr dive with a score of 391.90.
