VISTA, Calif. --- Biola is coming off their inaugural season and will head into the 2023 campaign ready to take the league by storm. The Western Water Polo Association released its preseason poll on Friday, naming the Eagles to number two in the league before the start of the new season.

The BU women's water polo squad accumulated 43 points in the poll voted on by WWPA coaches. The team came up three points shy of conference favorite, Cal State East Bay. The Eagles garnered three first-place votes in the process.

Last year, Biola went 13-16 with four wins and two losses in conference play. BU finished off the regular season with back-to-back wins and a third-place finish in the WWPA conference championships in Fresno, California.

16 returners cover the BU roster entering 2023. Rachel Spadt and Veralie Naranjo headline the list as a pair of 2022 all-americans.

The Eagles will be back in the pool on Saturday at the Long Beach State Mini Tournament and will begin league play on the road at Cal State East Bay on March 17.
