Eagles Dominate

The women’s basketball team dominated in their 97-51 win against Bethesda University.

LA MIRADA--- The Biola Women's Basketball team dominated against Bethesda University, taking a 97-51 win against the Flames.

The Eagles showcased an impressive offensive performance, recording their highest scoring game since joining NCAA Division II.

"I feel like our team is coming together just at the right time," shared Natasa Radovic. "We had to overcome some obstacles at the beginning of the season, but since coming back from holiday break everyone has been playing their best games. I am excited to see us continue to get better every single game and dominate as we head into this road trip and down the final stretch of our season. It's been exciting to be on this journey together."

Four Eagles scored in the double digits tonight including: Eleni Cabrera (15 points), Jessa Thurman (13 points), Radovic (10 points), and Hope Weber (10 points). All four Eagles had shining performances. Cabrera went 5-for-9 beyond the arc, Thurman recorded her second double-double of the season (with 11 rebounds), Radovic shot 50 percent from the field (4-8), and Weber put down all five of her baskets in only 11 minutes of playing time.

Bethesda started off with the lead in the first quarter, but Biola quickly took over and would remain ahead. The Eagles were efficient on the court, swiping 15 steals and then capitalized by scoring 33 points off of their opponents' turnovers. Jaci Bolden, Sydney Moran and Radovic led their team with three steals each.

Biola extended their lead by as much as 46 points in their 97-51 victory which happened to also be the final basket of the night drained by Bolden.

Biola improved to a four-game winning streak (7-8 overall), while Bethesda fell 0-6.

The Eagles play next on Saturday, Feb. 14 against Hawai'i Pacific at 11 a.m. PT in the Shark Tank.
