IRVINE, Calif. --- Biola continued collecting conference honors on Tuesday. The PacWest Volleyball Player of the Week award was given to BU's Abby Brewster, as announced by the conference office.

In the match of the week, Brewster showed up and showed out. The opening contest of the week was a home bout against Azusa Pacific. 

A slow start did not deter Brewster and the Eagles, who pulled off a reverse sweep for a 3-2 victory. Brewster brought her "A"-game, dishing out 51 assists in the long distance match. The offensive orchestrator was key in the comeback, helping secure the team's first PacWest win of 2022.

The stat sheet continued to be stuffed by Brewster, who tallied 40 more assists on Saturday against Fresno Pacific. On the week, the senior averaged over 10 assists per set to guide the Eagle attack.

On top of her assists, the BU setter made an impact on defense with back-to-back double-digit dig performances. Two double-double outings improved her season total to four in 2022.

Five service aces against APU set a new career-high for Brewster. The senior ultimately put up six on the week and has at least one ace in seven-of-nine matches.

For her career, Brewster is closing in on a major milestone. Heading into the new week of action, the setter sits at 941 career assists, needing 59 to cross the 1,000 assist threshold.

Brewster's next opportunity to draw closer to that mark will be on Friday at 5:00 pm against Holy Names in Chase Gym.
