CARSON, Calif.--The Biola University men's soccer team started to find their groove in the second half, but ran out of time resulting in a 3-1 loss to Cal State Dominguez Hills at Toro Stadium on Wednesday night.
The first half proved to be a challenge for the Eagles who fell to a 2-0 deficit, but Biola regrouped at halftime and bounced back with the first goal of the second half.
Onesimus Bonat sent a good ball across the field toward the left post where sophomore Samuel Skartnes came flying across to head in the Eagles first goal.
Biola fought to tie up the game, but was met with a strong defensive performance by the Toro's goalie who made two saves in the remaining minutes.
Despite the Eagles' best effort, CSUDH made their third and the final goal of the game in the 72nd minute.
Goalkeeper JD Gunn faced 15 shots and made four saves to keep his team in the game.
The Eagles play next Saturday, September 3 against Cal Poly Pomona at 7 p.m. For more game day information visit the
