IRVINE, Calif. --- With the new year fast approaching, Biola volleyball received the news of the preseason awards granted by the PacWest conference offices. The preseason poll ranked all 11 teams within the conference, putting the Eagles in the number three spot. Included in the preseason rankings, was the team of Preseason All-PacWest selections which featured Madison Beebe.

For the 17th time in the Aaron Seltzer era at BU, the Eagles squad pulled in 20 wins in the 2021 season. The team finished as the second place team in the conference, trailing just Chaminade by one match. Biola returned 11 of its players from the 2021 campaign, including First Team All-PacWest award-winner, Beebe.

Beebe will be the highlight spot of the BU attack in 2022, dominating from her outside position. The senior posted 332 total kills through 95 sets for a 3.49 kills per set last year, helping her earn a spot on the Preseason All-PacWest Team. Only seven athletes made the exclusive list heading into 2022.

In the poll, Biola corralled a total of 94 points. The coaches across the conference each voted on the group of 11 teams to determine the preseason rankings. One first place vote found its way to Biola, as the team only trailed Chaminade with 118 total points and Azusa Pacific at 100 points.



The Eagles 2022 campaign is set to begin on August 26 when they kick things off at the San Marcos Invitational. Conference play will begin on September 7 for BU, as they host APU in Chase Gym at 6:00 pm.
