KANSAS CITY --- Biola women's soccer boasted one of the best team grade point averages in the country, earning a United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award.

Erin Brunelle's squad came together for a team gpa of 3.54, surpassing the minimum mark for the team academic award by over .5. The Eagles added to their success in the classroom with seven wins on the pitch and five shutouts in the 2021 campaign.

Katelyn Penner led the way for BU, dominating on the field and in her school work. The upperclassman was voted to be a CoSIDA Academic All-District award-winner back in November.

A total of 783 soccer teams (295 men, 488 women) posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for the 2021-22 academic year. Of that total, 145 schools had both their men's and women's programs recognized.
