IRVINE, Calif. --- The PacWest voted and placed four different Eagles across the four All-PacWest teams. The conference offices announced the prestigious list on Wednesday night on the opening day of the PacWest Championships in Surprise, Arizona.

The BU men's tennis squad put together its best season in the modern era, finishing 2022 at 16-7. Entering the PacWest Tournament this week, Biola earned the No. 3 seed, thanks to outstanding play across each and every court.

For the first time in the PacWest, Biola placed two players on the All-PacWest First Team. Sebastian Herrera and Alexei Prokopchuk collected the distinguished honor after fantastic 2022 campaigns.

Herrera was a mainstay in No. 1 singles, finding a spot in the ITA singles rankings throughout much of the season. The junior nabbed his first conference postseason award with an 11-8 record.

Prokopchuk carried the torch on court No. 2 for Biola, putting together a record of 19-3. The huge win total was five more than anyone else for the Eagles, as Prokopchuk went 4-0 in the No. 1 spot and 15-3 from the No. 2 spot. The Wednesday announcement marked the second-straight First Team All-PacWest award for the redshirt junior.

In doubles play, Antonio Rosales Varona joined forces with Prokopchuk to lead the team from court No. 1. The duo went 12-6 in 2022 and notched their second-straight Second Team All-PacWest recognition.

No. 2 doubles featured Carlos Solorzano and Herrera for Biola. The pair produced a team-high 14 wins for BU and earned a Third Team All-PacWest award on Wednesday.

The third-seeded and No. 30 Biola Eagles will kick off their PacWest Tournament with a matchup against sixth-seeded Point Loma. BU and PLNU split the season series with each team winning once by a 6-1 final score. The postseason contest is set to begin on Thursday at 9:00 am at the Surprise Tennis Club.
