Box Score
LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Biola Women's Water Polo got its first chance at official Western Water Polo Association competition on Friday with an early-morning matchup against CSU East Bay at the Loyola Marymount tournament.

The Pioneers, who're currently receiving votes in the CWPA rankings, picked up the win with a 15-5 score at the neutral site.

CSUEB got out to a quick start, scoring the first six goals of the match to lead big within the first 10 minutes or so. Rachel Spadt got the Eagles going with a goal about four minutes into the second period.

The Pioneers would extend the lead out to 9-2 at halftime, using a seven-goal second frame. The seven scores is the most Biola's given up in any single period this season.

Biola would manage two goals in the third and one in the fourth, but could not withstand the steady stream of scoring from East Bay. The Pioneers, despite a sizable advantage, even surged at the finish with four goals in the fourth quarter.

East Bay finished with three players having at least three scores. Spadt led Biola with her 25th and 26th goals of the season.

The loss drops Biola to 5-10 and now 0-1 in WWPA conference play. CSUEB improves to 7-9 and 1-0 in conference action.

Up next for Biola is a 2 p.m. matchup against No. 19 Princeton. Follow the live scoring of that contest at https://www.thefosh.net/live/12632.
