Box Score
FRESNO, Calif. — For the second time in about 12 hours Biola Women's Water Polo ran into a top-15 national opponent. This time it was the University of the Pacific Tigers as the Eagles progressed into day two at the Fresno State Bulldog Invite.

Biola scored first when Kourtney Pyle cashed in a five-meter opportunity just about two minutes into the first period, and the Eagles kept it close through the entire first period with a Veralie Naranjo goal knotting things at two about five minutes in and staying level to the break.

Pacific used a big 6-0 second period to create the separation needed to work its way to the eventual 15-5 victory, handing Biola a third-straight loss.

UOP continued their shutout streak deep into the third-period, turing the 2-2 contest all the way into a 12-2 advantage until Lizzy Birch was able to find the twine 20 seconds into the fourth quarter.

Biola and UOP were level 3-3 through the fourth, but it was too little, too late for Biola to complete the comeback. The additional goals came courtesy Hanna Jordan and a second from Naranjo.

Damaris Kientz and Alicia Fregoso split time 50-50 in the cage for Biola in this one. Biola did have the positive note of continuing its prominence in the period-opening sprints. The Eagles were 4-for-4 in that category today with Ava LoBue taking three of those.

Up next for the Eagles (2-6) is an evening matchup with No. 11 San Jose State (7-6) at 4:30 p.m.
