Box Score
FRESNO, Calif. — Fresno State came into Friday's matchup as the No. 8 team in college water polo. The hosting Bulldogs lived up to that billing with a phenomenal start against Biola, holding Head Coach Sarah Orozco's Eagles scoreless until the fourth quarter.

The Eagles were able to pile on seven goals in the final frame of play, but still fell short to the Central California power by a final score of 15-7. The Bulldogs pulled ahead 14-0 before Biola would outscore them 7-1 in the final six-plus minutes.

Rachel Spadt recorded a hat trick for BU and Lizzy Birch also scored twice in the effort. It was Spadt's second multi-goal game of the season and the third such effort for Birch.

Samantha Rainey slowed down the Fresno State attack a bit with five saves and five goals allowed for a .500 save percentage.

The Eagles had chances throughout the game, with Fresno State being excluded 15 times. However, the Eagles were just 1-for-14 with the one-player advantage and 1-for-1 on penalty chances. Spadt scored the Eagles' one penalty goal.

The loss drops Biola to 2-5 while the hosting school improves to 5-7.

Biola continues play at the Fresno State Bulldog Invite on Saturday with games against No. 15 Pacific (9 a.m.) and No. 11 San Jose State (4:30 p.m.).
