IRVINE, Calif. --- One match and one victory for the Eagles made for a perfect week on the court. Abigail Copeland played a major part in the win over Fresno Pacific on Saturday, leading to a PacWest Defender of the Week honor.

Biola and Fresno Pacific faced off in the Eagles' lone matchup last week inside Chase Gymnasium. BU came out strong and evened the season series with the Sunbirds with a 3-0 sweep on Saturday afternoon.

Copeland was stout at the net, stifling the Sunbird attack in the contest. The middle blocker collected four solo blocks to match a career-high. The second set alone saw two solo blocks from the standout athlete, including a crucial point in a four-point rally to nearly close out the set.

The senior added a block assist in the third set to total five blocks on the afternoon. The impressive mark made for the seventh match of the year with Copeland reaching at least five total blocks.

Copeland also hit a season milestone on Saturday. Four kills pushed her season total to 100, while averaging 1.35 kills per set. Copeland continued her streak of matches with at least three kills when playing in at least three sets to 28 matches.

Copeland and the Eagles will look to continue their hot streak on Tuesday with a crucial bout against Azusa Pacific.
