Box Score
RIVERSIDE, Calif. — There will be no discounting Head Coach Sarah Orozco's Biola Women's Water Polo any time soon as Biola made a big statement to cap week two with an 18-3 victory over the Redlands Bulldogs.

The Eagles closed out the CBU Lancer Joust in exciting fashion, setting a new program-record with 18 tallies to earn victory number two on the young season. Graduate Transfer Hanna Jordan led the way offensively with four goals on just five shots to outscore the Bulldogs by herself.

Biola used a trio of goalkeepers in this outing, getting time from Damaris Kientz, Samantha Rainey and a big 16 minutes from Alicia Fregoso. Fregoso tacked on four saves and a steal while allowing just two tallies.

The BU defense was dominant, holding Redlands to only 17 shots in the entire game and a .176 shooting percentage on those attempts. The Eagles again showcased their athleticism by winning all four sprints to start off each quarter on the right foot.

BU scored the first three goals of the game, but Redlands seemed competitive for a bit after that by scoring a quick pair of goals in less than two minutes. After that, though, the Bulldogs mustered just one more score over the game's remaining balance of 35 minutes.

Biola used a 10-0 run in scoring to turn the game from 4-2 to 14-2 while getting points out of eight different players.

Adding to Jordan's four-piece was three from Lizzy Birch, three from Kourtney Pyle and two each from Allison Crawford, Veralie Naranjo and Maria Roldan Gonzalez.

Birch scored what turned out to be the game-winner less than five minutes into the game as she accounted for two of Biola's first four scores.

The win helps the Eagles improve to 2-3 overall. They will eagerly await the coming week as another chance to play at home looms on Friday. The Eagles will host Concordia Irvine in their NCAA Division II home opener. First sprint is schedule for 1 p.m. at SPLASH!
