LA MIRADA, Calif. – Ten members of the Biola Tennis program earned 2021 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Scholar Athlete honors, while both of
David Goodman's teams earned ITA All-Academic Team honors.
To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, a student-athlete must have a grade-point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year and be listed on the institutional eligibility form.
On the men's side, Alexei Prokopchuk, Antonio Rosales Varona and Alejandro Sedeno were named ITA Scholar-Athletes.
The women's team hauled in seven honors as Mary Brascia, Gaby Carvajal, Ines Diaz, Colbeyshae Emery, Brooke Fager, Amelia Kits and Madison Swaney all earned ITA Scholar-Athlete honors.
Biola women's tennis posted a department-best 3.74 grade-point average in the spring while the men's team posted a 3.2 grade-point average. In order for a team to be named an ITA All-Academic Team, programs must have a team grade-point average of 3.2 or above (on a 4.00 scale).
