Aubrey Fergeson earns Academic All-District honors for the first time in her career.

June 07, 2021

LA MIRADA, Calif ---  Biola women's soccer junior Aubrey Fergesen has been selected to the 2020-21 CoSIDA Academic All-District VII First Team as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

CoSIDA Academic All-District members are recognized as the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. Nominees are divided into eight districts for the first round, which is voted on by that district's sports information directors.

"This is a wonderful recognition for someone who makes it all look so easy," said Head Coach Erin Brunelle. "She leans heavily on the Lord for her strength and endurance and consistently seeks ways for God to bend her time."

The Rancho Santa Margarita native played in four games this season for the Eagles, starting in each one for a total of 279 minutes played in the 2021 season. The junior will return for her senior season and provide experience and depth for Brunelle's defense.

"Aubrey worked tremendously hard over the past year and a half to recover from an injury and God blessed her with a fantastic season on the pitch this spring," said Brunelle. "She is driven and motivated to put forth her best effort in all that she does, and it is no surprise that she has received this academic award."

Fergeson, who owns an impressive 3.93 grade point average as a double major in Accounting as well as Bible, Theology & Ministry, earns Academic All-District honors for the first time in her career. As a double major and student-athlete, Fergeson has consistently taken over 18 units of courses each semester making her academic accomplishment even more impressive.

"Even with one of the busiest schedules on the team, she manages to prioritize her time with the Lord, invests in the lives of her teammates and classmates, holds herself to the highest of standards in training sessions and makes sure she spends adequate time caring for her body with our Sports Medicine team," commented Brunelle.

Fergeson's diligence and leadership on and off the field is something her teammates and coaching staff admire most about the junior.
