IRVINE, Calif. --- RobertAnthony Cruz and Larson Kindreich were named to the All-PacWest First Team while five total members of the Biola baseball team were honored on Tuesday as the PacWest Conference unveiled its 2021 postseason honors. 

In addition to the first-team honors won by Cruz and Kindreich, Jackson Collins, Tyler Mead and Johnny Sage were named to the All-PacWest Third Team giving Biola a total of five members receiving postseason honors. 

"Great job by all five of these guys to earn these awards," said Head Coach Jeff Calhoon. "They have worked tirelessly and have represented the program well this year through some difficult circumstances. Our entire staff is really proud of them and their work ethic and can't wait to see what the future holds for each one."

It was the second career All-PacWest honor for Cruz and Collins, who both made the All-PacWest third and second team respectively as sophomores in 2019. Kindreich, Mead and Sage received all conference honors for the first time in their careers. 

RobertAnthony Cruz was named to the All-PacWest First Team as a utility fielder. Cruz established himself as one of the top hitters in the PacWest this year, slashing .396/.489/.775 and playing lockdown defense at second base while making a few appearances in the outfield and at first base. Cruz ranks in the top-three in the conference in homeruns (12, second), hits (44, third), total bases (86, third), slugging percentage (.775, third), on base percentage (.489, third) and stolen bases (8-8, third). 

Larson Kindreich collected his first conference postseason honor, as the lefty was one of three starting pitchers named to the All-PacWest First Team. Kindreich continued his build off his dominating 2020 and set himself up to be one of the top starting pitchers in the conference this year, posting a 5-2 record with a 3.33 ERA and PacWest best 71 strikeouts in just 46 innings. He ranks top-three in batting average against (.191, first) and hits allowed (31, third). Kindreich looks to be the first player off the 2021 MLB draft board for Biola and one of the highest selections within the PacWest. 

Jackson Collins put together a strong all-around season for Biola, slashing .301/.424/.482 and getting a majority of the starts at first base. Collins earned his second postseason honors having been selected to the second-team in 2019.

Tyler Mead earned his first All-PacWest postseason honor as he was one of three relievers honored throughout the conference. Mead was selected to the All-PacWest Third Team as the lone relief pitcher. Mead proved to be a valuable asset out of the Biola bullpen making 13 appearances and posting a 1-1 record with a 2.18 ERA while racking up 20 strikeouts across 20.2 innings pitched. The sophomore earned all three saves out of the 'pen for Biola in 2021.

Johnny Sage rounds out the All-PacWest honorees as the senior was named to the third team as an outfielder. After transferring to Biola from Purdue, Sage proved to be an effective leadoff hitter for the Eagles slashing .357/.454/.460 while driving in 14 runs. The senior showed off his range in the outfield recording 64 putouts and two outfield assists.
