LA MIRADA, Calif. --- The College Sports Information Directors of America announced its Academic All-District Men's and Women's Basketball Teams, which recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.

Stephanie Lee and Alex Wright gathered their first career CoSIDA Academic All-District awards with the announcement. 

The recent honor added to Lee's litany of accomplishments in her two years at Biola. Lee began her career with a PacWest Freshman of the Year award, before earning an All-PacWest Southern California Team nod this past season.

The Brea, California native boasts an incredible 3.98 grade-point average, while majoring in nursing. Academic excellence mirrored her strong performances on the court, as Lee averaged 15.1 points per game and led the PacWest with 37 three-pointers on the season.

Wright also improved an already impressive resume, as the only player in the PacWest to earn the all-district distinction. The guard earned All-PacWest Southern California Team and NABC 2020-21 Division II All-District West Second Team recognitions for his outstanding 2021 campaign.

Academically, Wright majors in business administration and holds a 3.81 grade-point average. During the season, Wright led the Biola squad in points (227), rebounds (119), three-pointers (19), steals (17) and minutes played (531). 

To be eligible for the CoSIDA Academic All-District award, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade-point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his/her current institution, while also participating in at least 50 percent of the team's games.
