Series Win for BU

A strong start from Beauvais and 11 hits from the bats power BU to the 8-4 win over Westmont.

Box Score SANTA BARBARA, Calif. --- Biola won game two of Saturday's doubleheader, 8-4, at Westmont to take the series 2-1. 

Andrew Beauvais gave the Eagles five strong innings while limiting the Warriors to four hits while collecting two strikeouts. The bullpen allowed the only runs on the day, surrendering two in the sixth inning and two in the seventh.

RobertAnthony Cruz continued to power the Eagles. Cruz was 3-2 with one RBI, a homer and three runs scored. Caleb Watson also recorded a multi-hit game going 2-3 with one RBI and one run scored. Johnny Sage, Jackson Collins, Ryan Gallegos, Jacob Portaro, Connor Kostecka, and Andrew Lujan each recorded a hit. 

Biola was the first to score as the Eagles plated five runs in the top of the fourth inning. Cruz led off with a single up the middle and Jackson Collins reached via the walk to give Ryan Gallegos two on with no outs. 

Gallegos singled to score BU's first run of the day as Cruz scored from second and Collins advanced to second. Connor Kostecka and Caleb Watson both singled to drive in BU's second and third runs of the frame. 

Andrew Lujan doubled to score two more for the Eagles and give BU the 5-0 advantage in the fourth.

Biola added a solo run in the fifth on a Cruz missile to put the Eagles up 6-0.

The bullpen was charged for the only runs of the game, but Biola's strong offensive performance powered the Eagles to their second win of the day and a series win over Westmont. 

The win improves Biola to 12-16 overall and 10-13 in PacWest play. The Eagles head to Nampa, Idaho to take on Northwest Nazarene on May 6.
