LA MIRADA, Calif. --- The PacWest named Alexei Prokopchuk the PacWest Men's Tennis Player of the Week on Monday. The BU standout produced three wins between singles and doubles play to help Biola to a 2-0 week.

The BU squad improved to 9-5 last week, defeating Westmont and Point Loma at home. Combined through the two matches, the Eagles outscored their opponents 10-1. Biola notched a defining 4-0 win over Point Loma, who had beaten them earlier in the season.

Prokopchuk was instrumental in the dominant performance against PLNU, winning his singles matchup in straight-sets. The sophomore made a statement with his strong play, outdueling Tyler Davis, 6-1, 6-3, after falling to Davis in the fourth contest of the year.

In the match against Westmont, Prokopchuk notched a perfect day. The righty picked up a 6-1 win in doubles play with Antonio Rosales Varona as his partner, before taking his singles match in straight-sets.

On the year, the Ukraine native has led the Eagles from the No. 1 spot with eight singles victories. 

BU will be back in action on Tuesday at the Biola Tennis Center, taking on Azusa Pacific.
