Yarter Earns PacWest Honors

Troy Yarter records the best PacWest javelin mark of the season, earns PacWest field athlete of the week.

April 19, 2021

IRVINE, Calif. --- Troy Yarter was named the PacWest Field Athlete of the Week for his incredible performance at the Bryan Clay Invitational.

Not only did Yarter record a personal best in the javelin on Friday by two meters, he also won the event with his mark of 53.51m (175'6"). Yarter's 53.51m mark is the best this season in the PacWest by more than two meters. All three of his marks at the Bryan Clay Invitational were good enough to take first place.

Troy continues to play a key role in the success of the track and field program. His hard work and dedication have allowed him to improve nearly every meet. "It's been a lot of fun to see him progress the way he has," said Head Coach Sean Henning. "We really appreciate who he is as a young man and what he brings to this team."

Yarter and BU Track & Field had a successful weekend at the Bryan Clay Invitational. The invite served as a final tuneup as the Eagles now shift their attention to the PacWest Championships on April 30 and May 1 in Fresno, Calif.
