BU Splits Series

APU delivered a 1-2-3 inning to take the 7-6 victory, 18 days after the contest was suspended

April 10, 2021

Box Score LA MIRADA, Calif. --- After regaining the lead in the bottom of the sixth inning, Biola couldn't close out the seven-inning contest on April 10. Play was suspended due to lighting and was resumed 18 days later. The Cougars were able to deliver a 1-2-3 inning and hang onto the 7-6 victory for a series split.

Both starters held their opponents scoreless through the first three frames of the contest and each surrendered a solo run in the fourth frame.

Azusa Pacific posted one of two three-run innings in the fifth to take the 4-1 lead. Biola responded with two runs of its own to come within one of APU.

After posting a scoreless top of the sixth inning, the Eagles scored three runs in the bottom of the inning to give them a 6-4 advantage over APU.

What seemed like a sure victory for Biola was quickly spoiled by the Cougar bats as they scored three runs off the Biola bullpen to take a 7-6 lead.

Once play was resumed, Biola was retired in order after putting only one ball in play and striking out twice to end the contest and split the series with APU.
