Late Rally Not Enough

BU falls short of the late inning comeback, drops contest to Chapman University 6-4

March 31, 2021

Box Score
ORANGE, Calif. --- The Eagles fought back from an early four run deficit to come within one run of Chapman in the seventh inning. The Panthers added an insurance run in the bottom of the eight to widen the gap. The 6-4 loss drops Biola to 1-8 on the season as they look to bounce back in two days against Concordia Irvine.

Ryan Greenlee and Evan Rowe both went 2-4 on the night. Greenlee added two stolen bases to a scored run and a triple. Brenden Bell, Jackson Collins, Ryan Gallegos, Johnny Sage and Caleb Watson each recorded a hit for BU. Watson and Bell each recorded an RBI for Biola.

Jake Anderson opened the game for the Eagles, he pitched two innings and limited Chapman to one hit and recorded two strikeouts. Keith Walker, Kenny Carillo and Gilbert Lopez all pitched a scoreless inning out of the bullpen. The trio recorded five total strikeouts in three innings.

BU's best chance came in the top of the fifth inning with the bases loaded and not outs. Unfortunately, Chapman retired the next three batters in order with a strikeout followed by a double play.

Biola is back in action on April 2 as they host Concordia Irvine for two games at Eagles Diamond. Game one is scheduled for 12 p.m.
