LA MIRADA, Calif. - Isaac Cordova picked up his first career PacWest Player of the Week award following a dominant showing against Cal Lutheran on Saturday. The freshman was successful in his singles match and doubles match, helping Biola cruise to an 8-0 victory over the Kingsmen.

"Isaac is a really talented player," said Head Coach David Goodman, "He has improved as an athlete in the last couple of weeks and is learning quickly."

Cordova was instrumental in a strong start for the Eagles, pairing up with Alex Sedeno in an 8-2 doubles victory. The duo was the first to finish, as all three doubles matchups favored the BU squad.

The El Paso, Texas native maintained the momentum, notching the first singles point for Biola with a straight-set victory. Cordova competed from the No. 2 spot for the first time this season, taking advantage of the opportunity with a 6-4 victory in set one and a 6-3 win in the second set.

The singles victory marked the second-straight for Cordova, while boosting his overall record to 3-1 on the year.

Cordova and the Eagles will return to action this weekend with a Friday matchup at home against Hawaii Hilo.
