LA MIRADA, Calif. --- The PacWest Conference named three separate conference teams to honor the players competing in each pod. The Hawaii Team, Southern California Team and Northern California Team are three separate teams, nominated and voted on exclusively by the coaches within that pod.

Biola Women's Basketball sophomore Stephanie Lee, was selected to the All-PacWest Southern California Team for the 2021 season.

Stephanie Lee continues to collect accolades during her collegiate career as the All-PacWest honor follows up an impressive 2019-2020 freshman campaign where she earned PacWest Freshman of the Year honors after scoring 10.2 points per game and led the team in three-pointers (57). 

A local product from Brea, California, Lee led the PacWest in three-pointers made with 37 on the season. Lee was also a conference leader in multiple categories, finishing third in playing minutes (451), sixth in scoring (196 points) and top-ten in assists (36).  

Lee averaged 15.1 points per game for BU and tallied her first career double-double with 10 rebounds and 13 points in the Cornerstone Cup against Azusa Pacific on Feb. 13. She logged double-digit scoring in all but two games for the Eagles in the shortened season. 

The sophomore standout led Biola Women's Basketball in scoring (196 points), field goals (65), three-pointers (37) and assists (36). Lee was BU's leading scorer in five of thirteen games this season, setting a new career high with 29 points against Point Loma on Feb. 19. 

"Stephanie is a wonderful representative of Biola Women's Basketball, and is very deserving of this honor. A hard-worker on and off the court, Stephanie contributes in all aspects of the game, and this year really took a step of faith and grew as a leader," said Head Coach Alan Nakamura. "All of her teammates and coaches would agree that Biola University, and our program, is a better place because of Stephanie."

Lee's talents on the court and her ability to shoot earned her the honor, but according to her team and coaching staff "she is much more than a shooter". "Despite her demanding pre-Nursing academic schedule, every day she comes ready to learn, help her teammates, work hard, and get better," said Nakamura. "Last year she had an outstanding Freshman of the Year season, but she wasn't satisfied. This year she added to her game by defending well, rebounding, and running the offense. She could have taken more shots and scored more, but she always tried to set up her teammates first."

Biola Athletics cannot wait to see what else Stephanie Lee will continue to accomplish during her academic and athletic career as an Eagle at BU.
